Rashtriya Military School (RMS) Criteria and Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality
Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
2. Age Criteria
For Class VI Admission:
The candidate should be between 10 to 12 years of age as of March 31st of the year of admission.
For Class IX Admission:
The candidate should be between 13 to 15 years of age as of March 31st of the year of admission.
The candidate must have passed Class VIII from a recognized school at the time of admission.
3. Gender
Only boys are eligible for admission to Rashtriya Military Schools.
4. Reservation Policy
Scheduled Castes (SC): 15% of the seats are reserved.
Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5% of the seats are reserved.
Children of Service Personnel including Ex-Servicemen: 70% of the seats are reserved for children of JCOs/ORs (Junior Commissioned Officers/Other Ranks) in the Armed Forces.
Kashmir Migrants: A small number of seats are reserved for the wards of Kashmiri migrants.
5. Medical Fitness
Candidates must be medically fit as per the standards set by the Rashtriya Military Schools.

Selection Process
Interview: Candidates who qualify in the written exam are called for an interview. The interview carries 50 marks for both classes.
Final Merit List: The final merit list is prepared based on the performance in the written exam and interview, subject to medical fitness and other criteria.
The exam is conducted in English and Hindi, except for the English paper which is in English only.
