Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India
Persons of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
2. Age Limit
Candidates must be between 16.5 years and 19.5 years of age.
3. Educational Qualifications
For Army Wing of NDA: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination or equivalent from a recognized board.
For Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA and 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics from a recognized board.
4. Marital Status
Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.
5. Physical Standards
Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards set by the NDA.
Specific requirements include height, weight, and vision standards. There are also medical conditions that may disqualify a candidate.
6. Gender
Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply.
NDA Exam Pattern and Paper Marking
Mathematics (Paper I)
Duration: 2.5 hours
Total Marks: 300
Number of Questions: 120
Marking Scheme:
Each correct answer carries 2.5 marks.
0.83 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer.
General Ability Test (GAT) (Paper II)
Duration: 2.5 hours
Total Marks: 600
Number of Questions: 150 (200 marks for English and 400 marks for General Knowledge)
Marking Scheme:
English Section: Each correct answer carries 4 marks. 1.33 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer.
General Knowledge Section: Each correct answer carries 4 marks. 1.33 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer.
Interview (SSB)
Total Marks: 900
The SSB interview is conducted in two stages:
Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT).
Stage II: Includes Psychological Tests, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Personal Interview, and Conference.
